While evangelism is critically important to furthering the body of believers, it is also important to provide opportunities for fellowship and growth to the new believers. MMS International provides a comprehensive program beyond simple evangelism so that new believers can survive and grow in their new spiritual life. To aid in growth, lay pastors are trained to lead new home fellowship churches. In addition, pastors of more established churches are given to opportunity to attend training workshops and conventions to further their education as well as to coordinate their efforts for better utilization of scarce resources.
The Leadership Training Centers are regularly used for pastor training, workshops, and refresher courses for believers who desire to take on more responsible positions within their community or church structure. In many cases home churches become established in locations where there is no leadership beyond that of the new believers themselves. MMS International provides an opportunity for dedicated young believers to acquire better training then would normally be available by self-directed bible study. Teachers with advanced theological degrees as well as guest speakers from around the world are invited to these centers to present intense training without a long term commitment. Attendees to these training courses range from new believers to senior pastors of large established indigenous churches. The major training program at the Leadership Training Centers is called Bible Training for Church Planters (BTCP). Students who complete the BTCP program are awarded a diploma attesting to their training.
